Overview
To mark 14 years of service, d Anime Store is rolling out large outdoor advertising for its anniversary project "The Conflict and Heat of Age 14" from August 3 to 9, 2026, with Akihabara among the featured areas. Twenty anime characters who are all 14 years old, drawn from across different series, appear alongside their memorable lines, following last year's "Age 13: This Is Where the Story Gets Interesting." In Akihabara the ads appear around the JR Akihabara Station ticket gates as well as on Raji-kan Vision and Onoden MX Vision.
Highlights
The characters share the same age but nothing else about their circumstances or inner struggles, and the layout invites visitors to compare them while walking through the station and past the display screens.
- The 20 characters include Madoka Kaname (Puella Magi Madoka Magica), Tsunayoshi Sawada (Katekyo Hitman REBORN!), Mamoru Endo and Shuya Gouenji (Inazuma Eleven), Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki and Fuu Hououji (Magic Knight Rayearth), Takemichi Hanagaki (Tokyo Revengers), Lain Iwakura (serial experiments lain), and Nunnally Lamperouge (Code Geass)
- Each visual pairs the character with a line spoken at age 14
- The special site links to the episodes where each line appears (some require separate purchase)
- A special anniversary movie for "The Conflict and Heat of Age 14" was released on August 3 via the special site, X, and YouTube
- The official X account "@docomo_anime" is running repost campaigns for Amazon gift cards (¥14,000 for 14 winners and ¥5,000 for 14 winners)
