Overview
The lecture and talk event "Ieyasu Tokugawa and Shingen Takeda: Yu Hirayama x Shingo Takagi" will be held at Kanda Myojin Hall on June 8, 2026.
The venue is on the second floor of Kanda Myojin Cultural Exchange Hall. The event features historian Yu Hirayama, who has worked on historical research and period supervision for NHK taiga dramas including What Will You Do, Ieyasu? and Takeda Shingen, alongside New Japan Pro-Wrestling wrestler Shingo Takagi.
Highlights
The program includes Hirayama's lecture, "Takeda Shingen and Tokugawa Ieyasu: Inherited Shingen-ism," followed by a talk session with Hirayama and Takagi. A further talk session with Takayuki Kato of the Marutake armor workshop is also planned.
The event explores what Shingen meant to Ieyasu, combining historical analysis with a fighter's perspective on the appeal of Sengoku-era warlords. Photography is allowed, but video recording and two-shot photos are not permitted.
