NVIDIA held an invitation-only event in Akihabara to celebrate 30 years of history with Sega and Japanese gamers, at GiGO Akihabara Building 3's "RETRO:G" from 17:00 to 18:00 on July 15, 2026.

Highlights

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang appeared alongside Shoichiro Irimajiri, YS Net CEO Yu Suzuki, Sega CEO Haruki Satomi, and COO Shuji Utsumi. The event showcased RTX Spark, and attendees had a chance to win a GeForce RTX 5090 FE by lottery.

On stage, NVIDIA and Sega announced that upcoming Sega titles — including the all-new Virtua Fighter game "VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS" (slated for 2027, developed by the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio) — will support PCs equipped with NVIDIA's new RTX Spark chip. Huang once again expressed gratitude for Sega's support during NVIDIA's financial crisis in the mid-1990s, saying "NVIDIA today would not exist without Sega's help."

Participation was by lottery invitation. Applicants posted memories of NVIDIA or Sega on X with photos, videos, or episodes by July 12, 2026, with winners contacted by DM from the official NVIDIA GeForce JP account on July 13.
