Overview
Torikoe Matsuri will be held at Torikoe Shrine in Taito City.
According to the official Taito City page, the festival dates are June 6, 7, and 9, 2026, and the venue is Torikoe Shrine. The shrine is an 8-minute walk from JR Asakusabashi Station and is also accessible from the Akihabara area toward Asakusabashi.
Highlights
Torikoe Shrine's main shrine mikoshi is called the Sengam Mikoshi and is introduced as one of the heaviest mikoshi in Tokyo.
On Sunday, parishioner neighborhoods carry the main mikoshi in relay. The procession is led by Sarutahiko, also known as Tengu, tekomai performers, and children carrying five-colored flags. In the evening, lanterns on the mikoshi and tall lanterns from local neighborhood associations are lit.
This final approach to the shrine is known as the Torikoe Night Festival and is noted for its solemn and dreamlike atmosphere. Detailed schedules and the latest information are provided on Torikoe Shrine's official Facebook page.
