Overview
"Edo Landmarks Walk with an Ukiyo Photographer: Kanda" will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, led by ukiyo photographer Kichiya, a photo artist who captures the present-day views of places depicted in ukiyo-e prints. It is organized by Ikebukuro Community College.
What to Expect
Participants compare ukiyo-e prints and old maps with the actual locations to learn about history. This time the theme is Kanda, where Oguri Kozukenosuke, the protagonist of next year's Taiga drama, was born, raised and educated. The walk covers the area from Akihabara to Suidobashi, tracing how the town developed.
